Murphy in Action
In this chapter we will take up several examples of incidents from different walks of life which have been specially included to highlight Murphy’s Law. All incidents pertain to Murphy’s Law. Each is followed by detailed analysis to justify its inclusion under this cat¬egory.
The various incidents have been classified under different heads – for example ‘kitchen’. The incidents under this category relate to experiences one can have in the kitchen and its environs. Another category is ‘college experience’ – those incidents which relate to experiences connected with college life. Some incidents are taken from factual reports. Sources of these will be provided in the references.
Taking these incidents as examples from each category, readers may formulate their own statements and expand
upon the data base of Murphy’s Law – provided they adhere to the criteria we have laid down earlier to justify inclusion of such specific incidents under Murphy’s Law. A few examples taken from the internet – and discussed in chapter 2, are by no means exhaustive. There are numerous others.
But with the criteria presented in this book, the readers can, by themselves, decide which of the so called Law of Murphy can, in reality, be considered as such.
